At first I thought my host family was welcoming and very chatty. There has also been Dominique at the house. At first I thought she was very judgemenal and never wanted to talk to us. Now that we have been there a while, it has gotten easier to talk to our family and understand them. We can have normal conversations, instead of getting confused every couple seconds. I love Dominique. She is such an amazing person. I enjoy talking with her and she helps me with my Spanish when I have trouble getting out what I'm trying to say. She speaks 5 languages very well, so she is a very good tutor. I have gotten to know my host sister a bit and she is much sweeter and loving than I first thought. I like taking with her and hearing about her job with the volunteers and such at the place she works.

The most important contribution I made at Ñeque today was helping the children make their lions. The goal was to make a lion out of foam paper, but the children had to collect all the pieces and bring them to me to get glued together. They did a fairly good job. After crafts, I helped a little girl with her home work then played games with them. They all seem to love attention, love and games. One girl in particular just wanted to be held and loved. It was very sweet. I love spending time with the kids and being able to put a smile on their faces.
