My greatest challenge in Ecuador so far has been the food situation. For instance, waking up in the morning has been difficult for me. I am used to waking up in the morning and getting my own breakfast--what I want to eat. However, in my host family, they make breakfast for me and it isn't always a food I like. This morning, I had an omelette with noodles inside. What an interesting combination! And, as one can imagine, I did not like it at all.  However, I am adapting to the situation little by little. For instance, tomorrow, when I wake up, I will be open to trying the new food. I won't turn the food down just by the looks of it.

My favorite part of Spanish class today was watching the movie with Doct. I thought it was fascinating that I could watch a movie in Spanish and understand the majority of what was happening. It was funny because Doc and I laughed at the same time...several times. It was both enjoyable and enriching to watch the movie today.

The part I will always remember about the trip to Pichincha is the part when I stepped out of the cable car. Carly Vix was making me laugh on the way up and when the doors opened, I stepped out of the cable car. However, I was still laughing. Since the altitude created such a difference in the air, I was having difficulty breathing since I was laughing so hard. The moment I realized the issue, I began to laugh even harder, causing Carly to laugh too. We were both laughing so hard...ok...choking and laughing at the same time. This obnoxious outburst lasted well over 5 minutes. When I was finished laughing, and Carly and I regained composure, my sides hurt from laughing. It was such a funny experience. I will never forget the laughs I shared on top of a mountain, in the fog, at 13,ooo ft.
