I learned that they value color and flowers a lot. They thank Mother Nature for everything they are given and dance to show they care for everything. My favorite part was definitely the music. It was very intriguing and amazing that the majority of it was live. The various instruments used were very different than those used in the United States. I was especially amazed by the guy who played the wind instruments. He changed between so many types of instruments and always looked like he was enjoying every bit of it. I also loved when the dancers tied the multi colored ribbons around a pole in a very fluid and simple dance. They even untied the whole thing, which was stunning. They all had various color ribbons and it was very appealing to the eyes. I would love to learn how to dance even a few simple steps of their dances.

Dance serves as a universal form of communication because it can be shown as a story. No matter what language someone speaks, they will still understand the story that is shown through various movements and the feelings given off by the music. Movement is universal in all languages. For example, when the dancers were chasing the deer, it was clear that they were trying to capture the deer for food. Everyone could see this play out, when with no words involved.
