Sapir-Whorf hypothesis
states that the language that we chose to use shapes the way people see the
world or reality. This Hypothesis showed me how much of an impact the words I
chose to use really do have. While visiting the children at Neque y Mas Neque I
knew that I had to speak in Spanish as well as speaking to them as children.
Not only did I learn how to communicate with the kids so they see me as someone
they can trust but I also learned they it’s not just about language when it
comes to kids, it also comes down to simply just being there or playing a game
with them.
