It is a bittersweet subject to talk about our time in Ecuador
ending, but I am truly excited to go back home. For me, family is extremely
important so I am looking forward to seeing my family again. This trip has been
the longest time that I have ever been away from my family. I am also excited
just to get back to a normal routine. I love exploring and being in new places,
but sometimes it is just nice to return to what you are used to. For me this is
living at home with my three dogs, riding my horse everyday, and working. It
sounds strange after thinking about all of the amazing things I have done, and yet I want
to go back to something so simple, but it really is the simple things that I
miss the most.
The thing that I will miss the most about Ecuador is just the fact
that I never know how things are going to be or what is coming next. Some
routine was established in the short time that we were here, but for the most
part every day was an exciting and new experience. For me this trip was unlike
anything I had ever done before and I am so grateful to have had the
opportunity to do it. I will also miss getting to see a different culture.
There are many things here that are similar to the U.S. but also so many that
are completely different. I love that Ecuador is so open to display their
culture through markets, dances, music, and more. To me this is something
really amazing. I will also miss getting the opportunity to work with the children at Ñeque y Mas Ñeque. For me this was such an amazing experience that
I would do it all over again. I think although I am ready to go home, Ecuador
will be an experience I will never forget.
