LaRoue - Blog #15
I’m most excited to return to my family. I have a good relationship with my brother so
I’m excited to spend the summer with him.
As well, some of my family I haven’t seen for a few months. One other small thing that I am excited to
return to is driving. I am grateful that
getting around in Quito got easier with gaining knowledge of the area and the accessibility
of public transportation. I have missed
being able to drive myself places. I
haven’t figured out the bus system here, and taxis often cost a lot if you’re
going more than a few blocks. I enjoy
the freedom of going anywhere at some level of efficiency.
Of all the things that I will miss in Ecuador (mountains, shops,
and not knowing anything), I will miss the people. I have grown very fond of my teachers at the
academia and I believe because of that I was able to learn as much as I did. As well, my living situation has been a very
positive experience. I will miss my host
family. I really felt as though as I was
a part of their family for these past two weeks and I am so grateful for all
that they did. One strange thing that I will
miss is my routine. I appreciate when I can
do relatively the same thing every day.
I like having that to relay on. I
generally stay up fairy late in the night.
Here I found that I was sleeping around 10. I got a lot of sleep and it felt really
good. I can already see that going home
will change that. I appreciate a lot of
the things that become normal here and I will miss most of it.
