1) What was your favorite part of Bella Vista and why?
~>_<~I want to say that the most favorite part of Bella Vista was watching my classmates jumped into the fall, screaming and playing together, which was really interesting. But at some time, I felt pity that I didn't jump to the fall because I know my physical condition is not suitable for such activities, although I very want to aggressively into them and play in the water together, but it was too difficult for me. My body is prone to cold and fever, so I have to take responsibility for my own health. This is part of my regret.
2) What was the biggest challenge you encountered in the cloud forest, and how did you overcome it?
The biggest challenge for me was climbing the first waterfall. I am not a very athletic person, so it was very difficult for me to do that. When I watched the other students climb up, I felt nervous for them and feared they would fall. When it was my turn, I was still nervous, and when the water dipped into my boots, I felt very cold, which made me even more afraid. But when I heard the encouragement from other students, I plucked up my courage and overcame my fear and climbed up. By the time I got to the second waterfall, I was less afraid. I felt that this trip was a challenge for myself, but I am so happy I did it~
3) How has your thinking about culture and communication changed this week, and what would you like to accomplish next week?
I feel that this week passed so quickly;
there are only six days left in Ecuador, which makes me feel sad. I love there so much and hope I can stay here longer. In the coming week, I hope to cherish my time in Quito. I want to spend more time with my host family grandma because she is so nice and lovely. She reminds me of my grandma in China. My grandma is 85 years old, and her health is not very good. She suffered from Parkinson's disease a few years ago. To be honest, I am very afraid that my grandma passes away when I am studying abroad. Due to the long distance between U.S. and China, I cannot go back immediately to see her.
I always remember the days when she looked after me, just like my host family grandma took care of me these days. I love them and want them to be healthy and safe.
