1)What was the most surprising information you learned at Mitad del Mundo?
Shrunk head is the most surprising things that I learned at Mitad del Mundo. When I saw the wall paintings on the wall showing the process, I felt a bit scary and disgusting. But when I listened to the guide's explanation, I began to understand why people did it. This is the culture of this tribe, and it must have a unique meaning to them. Even it's strange but I choose to respect it.
I also like the challenges we did on the equator line. I am the person who very bad at physical or geological things. So it is very interesting for me to see how does the gravity of the equator affects us. In particular, the tour guides show that the water on the equator line is flowing vertically. That is very interesting~~
I'm proud that I can walk on the equator straight, probably because of the twelve years of dancing, which makes my balance better.
2) What was your perception of the food during our dinner at Mama Clorinda? (Which food(s) did you try that took you out of your comfort zone? Which were your favorites?)
I am very enjoyed the dinner at the Mama Clorinada, which is the best meal I have in the Ecuador.
The only food I can't accept is a dessert made from figs. It is very weird for me, figs are sweet but strange. This tastes like red dates in China. We remove the jujube and put it into the water, boil it, add honey and sugar until it becomes sticky. This dessert aids in circulation and can help keep blood sugar on an even keel, which is helpful to our body. But I don't like red color food, just like some people don't like red meat.
The most frightening thing was that the figs were also served with a very salty cheese. I can't understand why this is so. I still feel confused why foreigners put cheese into almost all of their food.
I most like the cow tongue. Actually, I really like eating strange food. Such as cow's tongue, frog, and fish skin. They taste special, and I like the kind of things that are really hard to have a chance to eat.
I like to observe the food culture of a nation and it's very interesting. The food in Ecuador gives me a sense of home. Make delicious dishes with simple ingredients. And they are very large, and I think that means the local people are very simple, warm and hospitable
