I believe that there are some similarity and difference between El Cambio de la Guardia of Ecuador and a regular ceremony of raising Chinese national flag in China. The similarity is that, every Monday, both Ecuador and China have this kind of important ceremonies, which mean a lot among their nations and citizens. Besides, the ceremonies of Ecuador and China attract not only native people but also foreigners who are willing to see how this big event look like. On the other hand, I did realize that there is a big difference between Ecuador and China. In China, people will not see Chinese president, but, Ecuadorians are able to see their president closely every Monday.
Even I am not a Ecuadorian citizen, I felt excited when I saw the president of Ecuador. As for me, famous people are always hard to see, so it is very impressive that Ecuadorian president can be that close to citizens. And I believe the reason Ecuadorians view the changing of the guard as important is that they feel more real about their nation and the policy by it. Also, a good communication between presidents and their own citizens, even without words but nonverbal communication, play a big role in gathering native people together.
The transportations in Quito especially the bus is too crowded. Due to a big population and its geology fact, the roads here is narrow and often full of traffic, and many people will choose taking a bus when they are going out. I believe the transportation like buses or metros are also very crowded especially in big cities. However, the roads in China are wider than Quito's. I was not uncomfortable with a crowded bus, but what I do not like is that, in this case, I have to pay a lot of attention to my things so I will not lose them. I mean, both in Ecuador and China, there tend to be more thieves. This is a lost of trust among people.
