My favorite part of the city tour is that we went to the old town where shows the old history of Quito. The architecture there are amazing, and the stories behind them are impressive. If people want to know about a country or a city, they are supposed to know at least some important historical events of it. History always makes me boring, however, when I was in those nice buildings and listening to their stories, these stories make more sense for me get into the inside of Quito and Ecuador.

During today's city tour, I learned that American Revolutionary War inspired the people of Quito thinking about their own independence. Our world is always connected somehow for some reason. Besides, it is very important to carry an umbrella in Quito, since you will not know what happens next due to its uncertain weather. Knowing the geography of a place well gives you a better trip. In a word, when people are traveling, knowing more instead of less about destinations always increase the quality of trips.

I knew Quito is surrounded by a lot of mountains, but when we were in the viewing deck in front of the first hotel of Quito, I was really surprised by how this city is built along these mountains. Since the places I have lived before are almost in flat areas, where are totally different than how Quito looks like. I looked down and realized where we stood is in a very high altitude. I can imagine how it looks like when I am standing in a top of mountain, but it is unbelievable if there is a city built along it. The clouds were surrounding, and houses are surrounded by trees. There are high ways connects different regions and the cars were driving fast. Everything is mini, but they all become a fantastic image in front of me. I will never forget the landscape here.
